The Traverse Area seems to come alive officially on May 1st each year. For our seasonal advertisers it’s the official opening day. So it is true for the Music House Museum in Acme.

The Music House Museum welcomes visitors of all ages to explore the history of musical appreciation. The musuem is home to a rare collection of musical instruments and music-making machines, dating from 1870 through 1930. Their one hour guided tours explain and demonstrate everything from phonographs to jukeboxes, nickelodeons to theater organs.

The gift shop is a great place to pick up a unique item for the music lover in your home. And don’t forget to ask about the Mini City, a 1931 scale model of Traverse City which used to reside outside near Clinch Park before it was rescued and restored.

The Music House also hosts a selection of events from Chamber music to their special Silent Films. We’ll keep you posted here on mealtickets.com when events are on the horizon. For more information on the Music House Museum, their hours, and a map to their location check out their listing on the Attractions page. You can also visit their website at www.musichouse.org.
